AOD Stone
Based in Oakville, just down the road from us. AOD designs and waterjet-cuts custom stone and porcelain pieces, including medallions, borders, backsplashes, vent covers and niches, made to match the rest of the room. Every design gets a full colour drawing before it is cut.
✦✦✧That Tile Chick & Online Tile Academy
Schannon breaks shower building down into clear, step-by-step lessons, from planning and waterproofing right through to flood testing, with online courses for DIYers and newer installers.
e.tile
Andrew is a working tile setter who shares quick, practical jobsite tips: cleaner cuts around outlets, trim miters, mosaics and more.
Tile Brother
Two brothers tiling bathrooms in Trollhättan, Sweden. They are known for big-tile floors that slope to the drain in clean envelope-style cuts, and for crisp mitred edges in place of metal trim.
✦✦✧Vision Stone & Tile
Nathan is an installer and owner who shares real shower builds, mortar beds and detail work from the job, and was named a Coverings Rock Star in 2024.
Dettmore
Zack is a kitchen and bath remodeler in northern New Jersey who shows the details most people never see, like steam-shower waterproofing and how to set a window inside a steam shower.
✦✦✧Tile Freak
Clint founded King Tile & Marble, a tile and slab installation company working across the GTA, and runs Tile Freak, a video and podcast channel about the tile trade and building a business.
Canadian Tile Pro
Sol founded Canadian Tile Pro, a tile installation company serving Toronto and the GTA, and shares tile know-how on YouTube and Instagram.
First Choice Tiling
Hector founded First Choice Tiling in San Marcos, California, and leads a team doing custom kitchen and bathroom remodels across the San Diego area.
Benches & curves
Some of our favourite bench videos come from Andrew Eylander (e.tile). Here is the idea in plain terms:
- Build the bench form and tie it into the shower's waterproofing.
- Float the top with mortar so it is level side to side, with a slight pitch so water runs off.
- Cap it with tile or a single stone slab; on curves, cut the tile to the arc and bend the edge trim to follow it.
